The Caralight photochemical system uses ultraviolet light to destroy dioxin-furan compounds before their release from industrial sources to the atmosphere. Dioxin-furans are destroyed in seconds.
Ultraviolet light is currently used for the treatment of drinking water and industrial waste water. Caralight is expanding the beneficial nature of ultraviolet light to air pollution control. The Caralight photochemical system benefits from the engineering development work already conducted by ultraviolet lamp manufacturers. The Caralight photochemical system does not require additives and does not generate solid or liquid wastes. It simply destroys dioxin-furan compounds in the gas stream. The Caralight photochemical system will reduce facilities’ dependence on process modification measures, which limit production and can damage multi-million dollar equipment. The Caralight photochemical system relieves industrial facilities from the need to substitute existing raw materials for expensive, high quality raw materials, which threaten the economic viability of the facilities. |
